We collect your email address and display name when you create an account. We store the films you like or skip, your genre preferences, and your matches. We do not collect financial data; payments are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Your data is used solely to provide the Filmatch service — matching you with your partner's film choices, personalising your swipe queue, and sending optional push notifications. We do not sell your personal data.
Filmatch shows ads through Google AdMob in the free tier. With your permission (requested via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt), AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and approximate location to show more relevant ads. You can decline tracking, and you can change this anytime in your device Settings. If you purchase "Remove Ads", advertising is disabled.

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the in-app Settings screen, or by following the instructions on our Account Deletion page. Deleting your account permanently removes all of your data from our servers.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in encrypted databases. Passwords are never stored in plain text — authentication is handled by Supabase Auth.
Filmatch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age.
